Biography

Darris Gene Pruitt, son of the late Wilma Courter VanPool and Charles Everett Pruitt, was born on October 16, 1947 at St. Louis and departed this life in the John J. Pershing Veterans Administration Medical Center at Poplar Bluff on March 8, 2010 at the age of 62.

He was a member of the Dexter Church of Christ, a veteran of the United States Army serving in the Vietnam War, a former truck driver for Heavy Duty Trucks in Bloomfield and a resident of Wappapello.

He is survived by two daughters, Christy Lee Sindle of Dexter and Melody Ann Patrick of Bloomfield: by one brother, Michael Wayne Pruitt of Bloomfield: by one sister, Anita Louise Duba of Dexter: by three grandchildren, Hanna Patrick, Brock Patrick and Lauren Sindle.

Friends may call at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter from 5:00 until 8:00 P. M. Thursday, March 11, 2010. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 P. M. Friday, March 12, 2010 in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel with Travis Quetermous officiating. Interment will follow in the Dexter Cemetery.
