Billy Lawrence Pickard, son of the late Olen Pickard and Velma Simmons Pickard was born in Wayne County, Tennessee on June 21, 1941 and departed this life in Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau, Missouri on April 9, 2010 at the age of 68.

Mr. Pickard served in the United States Army, was Plant Manager for Mid-Continent Nail Corporation of
Malden, Missouri, had Owned B&J Country Mart in Malden and had worked on the river. He was a member of the Parma Church of Christ.

He was united in marriage to Jeannie Lowery in Bernie, Missouri on May 16, 1962. Mrs. Pickard survives of the home in Campbell, Missouri.

Other survivors include two sons, Steven Wade Pickard of Malden, Missouri and Chris T. Pickard of Campbell, Missouri; by two daughters, Kelli Shelton and husband Tim of Bernie, Missouri and Kathy Neely of Campbell, Missouri; by one brother, Donald Pickard and wife Phyllis of Marble Hill, Missouri; by three sisters, Willodean Kettering of Malden, Missouri, Shelby Palmatory of Festus, Missouri and Betty Kitterman of Cape Girardeau, Missouri; by two sister-in-laws, Hazel Allen Pickard of St. Genevieve, Missouri and Lorretta Pickard of Bernie, Missouri; by one grandson, Thomas Pickard; by one granddaughter, Alyssa Pickard.

He was preceded in death other than by his parents, by two brothers, David Pickard and Chester Pickard; by one sister in infancy, Betty Lou Pickard.

Friends may call at Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Bernie, Missouri on Saturday, April 10, 2010 from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. Funeral services will be conducted in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel in Bernie on Sunday, April 11, 2010 at 2:00 P.M. with Bud Mayes and Ricky Bryant officiating. Interment will follow in the Bernie Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials may be sent to Diabetes Association.
